On my run in the del monte forest I almost got tangled up in this huge web. Got to wonder how big the spider is that spin it. Hate to go back to the heat but all good things come to on end.

Terrific family friendly show at the Sunset Center Theater in Carmel. The international food and activities were also pretty cool.

Oakland A's

Bay bridge and artichokes

Looking forward to eating those fresh artichokes. First drove across then rode my bike across the new span of the bay bridge. Very cool perspective with lots of barge/ship traffic.

La Jolla

The seals are out and so is the sun.

Old town and soccer

Had a fabulous lunch in old town followed by a spirited soccer game this afternoon.

Mission Bay

Great ride this morning along the bay here in San Diego.

Enjoying the lake

Took a relaxing boat ride yesterday. Today we took the chair lift to the top of Snow Summit and hiked down. Got a little lost but we made it. Finished the afternoon swimming in the lake.

Big Bear

Made it home for the night to wash clothes and regroup. Now it's time to relax again. Great campground in the woods. Boys are busy collecting pine cones and exploring nature.

Vacation

After seeing a great movie (Echo) we watched the kite surfers then ended the day with a bike ride around Lake Casita. Saw deer and even a bald eagle. We might have to do this again next year.

Ojai adventure

Found this cool little spot along one of the few remaining flowing rivers in so-cal. It was great until the fish started biting my toes.

Happy 4th if July

Huge street fair in Ventura and a great dessert drink break in Venice. Next it fireworks time. We brought some of own but I think there illegal here.

Santa Barbara Zoo and fishing

Started off the day fishing from our campsite then made the short drive to the zoo. Boys favorite part was the African wind storm booth. The gorillas were Heidi's favorite and I'm just enjoying the cool weather.

Carpentia

Another day another park. Actually this one is awesome because it's right on the beach. Reminds me of Denis the Menace park in Monterey.

Lake Casita

Just outside Ventura in the cooler weather. So nice to sit outside and not be sweating. Happy Heidi is able to join us boys! Not crowded yet but I'm sure the closer we get to the 4th more campers will show.
